Comments:
There are 5 Airframe logbooks, 2 Engine logbooks, and 1 prop log that is part of the operating manual for the propeller.
Airframe logbook #1 opens with the test flight and IFR Cert on 2/26/1971. On 9/9/1971, a Grimes Strobe Kit was installed on the aircraft. The log entries from then on showed only regular scheduled maintenance and Logbook #1 closes on 6/11/1976.
Logbook #2 opens on 8/2/1976 with a minor maintenance entry. The aircraft's tach and total time at this time is 1804.02 and the subsequent entries are general inspection and servicing entries. Log #2 closes on 10/23/1983 with the installation of door and storm window seals. Total airframe and tach times coincide at this time at 3879.99.
Logbook #3 opens on 12/16/1983 at airframe and tach times of 3907.54 with an annual inspection. The tach was replaced at 5000.0 hours on 7/12/1984. Total Airframe time is now 5000.0 hours and tach time is 0. On 7/29/1988, a Parker Hannifin air conditioner was installed. The 3 Blade McCauley propeller with s/n 881302 was installed on 9/13/1988. Logbook #3 closes with a 100 hour inspection.
Logbook #4 opens with a 100 hour inspection at tach time 803.0 and total aircraft time 5803.0. There are no entries for the gap between logbooks 3 and 4. On 5/11/1993 a D Shannon speed windshield is installed IAW STC SA997So and a Vortex Generator kit STC SA09074SC is installed on the aircraft on 5/14/1996. Corrosion X was applied upon the aircrafts arrival in Florida from California on 1/01/2001 and the last entry for logbook #4 was on 7/30/2004. Tach Time to date is 2237.3 and total airframe time is 7237.3.
The last and final logbook, #5 opens on 6/20/2005 with an annual inspection and EDM 700 installation. The AC Compressor was replaced on 9/16/2004 at tach 2606.8. On 3/09/2006 the overhauled engine is installed (Tach Time 2355.2). On 9/13/2007 at tach time 2308.2 the GNS430 with WAAS was installed. The IFR Cert was performed on 8/11/2008 and the last annual was completed on 11/14/2008 at airframe total time 7627 and tach time 2627. The left fuel bladder was replaced on 8/5/2009 and the battery was replaced on 8/29/2009 which was the last entry.
The current Airframe Total Time is 7697.6 and the Tach Time is 2697.6
The first engine log opens on 3/17/1992 with the engine rebuild making the engine 0 time. At tach time 622.4 on 3/19/2006 the engine was installed on the aircraft. This log ended on 3/19/2006 with a tach time of 2355.2 at a total engine time of 1732.8.
Engine log 2 opens with the overhaul and modification by Ultimate aircraft engines. Gami injectors were installed and the engine was mapped and dynamically balanced. The last entry was made for an oil change on 8/29/2009.
The prop log only has two entries. The first is on 6/26/1996 for the installation on the aircraft. The last entry was the annual inspection on 11/14/2008.
Maintenance Status
Maintenance Inspection Date: 11/14/2008 On Progressive Inspection: No
Comments: Reading through the logs, it appears that the aircraft has been well maintained throughout its life. There is one gap in the logs where 800 hours is unaccounted for. The aircraft was based in Fresno, California until 2001 when the airplane was moved to Florida. There are signs of a corrosion treatment, but the aircraft still has many small spots of corrosion. All preventative maintenance and general servicing have been completed and is well documented.
Time Life Limited Systems: No Cycle Life Limited Systems: No
Comments:
Service Bulletin Status: Some service bulletins have been complied with.
AD's Complied With: No Estimated Cost for AD's Compliance: $1000
Tires Condition: Good Type Brakes: Cleveland Anti-Skid: No
Exterior Paint Condition: Good
Repaint Date: N/A Repainted By: N/A
Comments:
The paint on this aircraft still has a shine and looks good from a short distance. Upon closer inspection, there are many small spots of corrosion and dings in the paint. On the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer you can see where there was either corrosion or paint erosion that was treated and then repainted. There are a few dings and dents on the airframe as well, but no evidence of any substantial damage. The wing root seals are old and worn with cracking and tears easily visible. The leading edge of the bottom right wing root seal is coming loose from the airframe. They will need replacement soon. The paint on the belly is worn and dirty. The paint is heavily eroded behind the exhaust pipes due to normal use. The step has spots where the non skid is missing and the wing walk nonskid is well worn. There is not a log entry for a repaint of the aircraft, assume that the aircraft has not been repainted.
Interior Condition: Good Cabin Configuration: Passenger
Cockpit Condition: Good Panel Layout: Average
Pressurized Cabin: No Window Condition: Average
Comments:
The interior is average for the age. Seats have been recovered and are in good condition, but there are no log entries or burn paperwork. Because the seat recovering has not been documented the IA that inspects the aircraft may require the seat's materials be burn tested, if they fail the test, the IA will declare the seat coverings as illegal and un-airworthy. This will requrire recovering will cost between 500 and 700 dollars per seat dependent upon the types of material used. The rest of the interior is worn in traffic areas and there are some minor damage spots to the armrests and sidewalls. The aft bulkhead also has black marks from where stuff has been put into the cargo area. The headliner is a little dingy with age but has no tears or fraying. The carpet has signs of wear in traffic areas but has no damage either. Airframe Modifications
